Course Description: To be prepared for careers in natural resource systems, students need to attain academic skills and knowledge, acquire technical knowledge and skills related to natural resources, and develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations. To prepare for success, students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, and transfer their knowledge and skills in a variety of settings. This course examines the management of game and non-game wildlife species, fish, and aquacrops and their ecological needs as related to current agricultural practices.
Necessary Supplies: Each student will need a folder with brads and will need to be prepared for class each day with the necessary writing utensils (pen or pencil) and paper. Failure to be prepared for each and every class will result in poor grades and/or discipline action.
Make-Up Work (Due to Absence):
Students shall be expected to make up assignments and tests after absences. Students shall receive a zero for any assignment or test not made up within the allotted time.
Grading Policies
Grades will reflect a student’s relative mastery of the assigned material. Students may earn from 0 to 100 points per grade and no minimum grade shall be assigned. Conversely, no maximum grade shall be limited to less than 100 possible points. Grades shall be weighted in the following way: Major Grades: (Test, Projects and Speeches) 65% Minor Grades: (Daily Work and Quizzes) 35%
