List and explain the 8 Maintenance of Life Characteristics 4. List the 5 Survival Needs 5. Use the "language of Anatomy" correctly in reference to an organ or the body. 6. Name the major body cavities and list the organs in each. 7. List the function of the 12 organ systems of the body. |
Tissues: 1. List the 4 kinds of tissues and describe the function of each. 2. Recognize the major tissue types using microscopic examinations. 3. List and explain the 6 special characteristics of epithelial tissue. 4. List and recognize the 3 types of muscles in diagrams or in the microscope. 5. Differentiate between the different types of connective tissue. Name the locations of each type in the body. |
The Integumentary System: 1. List the layers of the epidermis. 2. Describe the structure and function of the derivatives of the skin: Hair & hair follicles, fingernails, Sudoriferous glands, Sebaceous glands. 3. List and explain the 6 functions of the skin. 4. The Skeletal System: 1. List and describe the 5 functions of the skeletal system 2. Recognize the classification of bone and give examples of each type. 3. Label the gross anatomical parts of bone and the microscopic parts. 4. Describe bone growth. 5. Name the major bones on the skeleton. |
