Responses to Vendor Questions regarding the Request for Proposal
1. Vendor Question:
I would like to submit a bid on this project. Is there any way to get a set of full size drawings? The drawings that are available on your website are just too small to view anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
Unfortunately, full size drawings are not available. Site drawings are being updated to mark perimeter door locations and pre-existing wiring locations. Electronic copies will be posted on the District Website within three business days.
2. Vendor Question:
Could you please provide new camera locations on the school/location maps that are part of this RFP? In other words, please WHERE do you want cameras located?
Answer:
The placement of cameras will depend on the vendor’s proposed design and solution.
3. Vendor Question:
Thank you for the receipt of the plans. I was just going to email you to see if I could get a copy of the Pre-bid sign in sheet from the January 7th meeting?

4. Vendor Question:
Can we get drawings with the exterior doors numbered? Without a numbering system it is difficult to describe them in proposal material.

Are there any specifications for SEC 28: Access Control and CCTV available from the FAC project?
Answer:
Would you please clarify the section/area of the RFP referenced here, or provide clarification for the question.
5.Vendor Question:
Can a full set of drawings showing doors to have card readers added by supplied. It is nearly impossible to read the drawings in the spec.

6.Vendor Question:
a. Can you send me a PLANHOLDERS LIST for the Security Intrusion - Video Surveillance Sys (Upgrade) project?
Answer:
The Request for Proposal is found on the link below under the heading documents. Floor plans are also included there.

b. Is it still bidding January 21 @ 2PM?
Answer:
The due date for submission for Competitive Sealed Proposals has been extended until February 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with a Pre-Bid meeting on January 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tuloso Midway Administrative Building Board Room.
c. Are there any Addendums?
Answer:

7. Vendor Question:
a. I see lots of card readers on the prints. Are we looking for a new intrusion system for the sites?
Answer:
Yes.
b. If the access and intrusion are separate are we looking for a quote for both?
Answer:
Please refer to Section 1.2.1. The request is for a Security Alarm system with integrated Access Control and other requirements outlined in this section.
8. Vendor Question:
a. Are there existing surveillance cameras at the purposed buildings for the project?
Answer:
Yes.
b. Can we get drawings showing the placement of the existing surveillance cameras?
Answer:
Vendors should design a video surveillance solution based on their knowledge, security expertise and type of equipment proposed. Existing equipment and wiring will be reviewed by District evaluation team when evaluating vendor solutions.
c. What is the make, model, and specifications for the existing cameras?
d. Are the existing cameras IP based?
e. What is the existing video management system currently used by the
district?

f. Can the MDF and IDFs rooms be identified clearly in the buildings for this project?
Answer:
MDF and IDF rooms have been identified and will be posted to the District website.
9. Vendor Question:
a. Section 1; 1.2.1 #5 Bar Code
Will printable proximity cards be considered vs bar codes?
Answer:
The specifications call for bar code cards.
b. Section 1; 1.2.3 Video
How many administration computers?
Answer:
One system administrator computer to manage the RPS.
One system administrator computer to manage the VMS.
How many work stations?
Answer:
Two campus level end user computers per campus to view that
campus’ surveillance cameras.
Two District level computers that can view all cameras in the District.
c. Section 1; 1.4 Schedule
Will weekend be available for working hours? If so what times?
Answer:
The work schedule for this project is during the week between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
d. Section 9; 9.3.1 IP Based Video Surveillance System
Who is providing the dedicated physical IP network for recording video &
play back?
Answer:
The vendor should include this in their proposal.
Who is providing the racks?
Answer:
The vendor should include this in their proposal.
e. Academic Drawing; is there dedicated IP network for security in this
area?
Answer:
The vendor should include this in their proposal.
f. Per the provided drawings. There is only one school with camera locations. Please confirm that all schools will have surveillance with a contractor design build for each.

10. Vendor Question:
Is there and IDF room in the PAC? If so, location please.
Answer:
There is an IDF located on the second floor directly above the boy’s dressing room labeled zone #2 on the PAC drawings (north side, center). The size of the IDF is 19’ by 8’.
11. Vendor Question:
Can the sign in sheet from the 2nd pre bid meeting be posted?

a. Please confirm IDF in Natatorium
Answer:
The Natatorium does not have an IDF. The closest IDF is shown on the High School drawing between the Old and New Gyms.
b. Please confirm IDF in Performing Arts Center
