from Valero community service coordinator, Rachel Salas. The Tuloso Midway Rotary Interact Club is hard at work!

Volunteers consisting of employees and family members from the Valero Bill Greehey Refinery along with about 25 students from the Tuloso-Midway High School were instrumental in the success of this year’s Walk to Defeat ALS fund raising walk held at the Hooks Whataburger Field on Saturday November 1st. Without the hard work and dedicated effort of these individuals, the bulk of the event’s volunteer stations would not have been manned. George Garza and his family did a fantastic job of cooking the food for the event, my husband Joey along with Erin Spangler, Kelli Coates, her son Ethan, and Laura Harwell manned the silent auction table, Iris Haese did an amazing job capturing the day’s events in photos, the students once again handled the face painting station, handed out water to the walkers, and also helped with serving the food, and I floated between work stations and helped with communications. It was a crisp, cool morning with lots to do and plenty of hands to handle everything ... THANKS TO OUR GREAT VOLUNTEERS!!
Thank you one and all for volunteering your time to help better the lives of those in our community living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
