TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Mr. Meinheit has taught journalism and advised student media at T-M since 2012. Previously, he substitute taught at Gregory-Portland ISD and Flour Bluff ISD.

EDUCATION
Mr. Meinheit earned his Master's of Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in December 2014. He also earned his teacher's certification through TAMU-CC. He earned his Bachelor's of Arts in journalism from Eastern Illinois University in 2005.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Meinheit has nearly a decade of experience writing, editing, and designing content for daily newspapers. While a senior at Peotone (IL) High School, he was an agate clerk for the sports department of the Kankakee (IL) Daily Journal. At Eastern Illinois University, he held several editor positions with the campus newspaper, The Daily Eastern News, including Editor-in-chief during the fall 2004 semester when the staff was a finalist for the Associated College Press Pacemaker Award. He also served internships at The Southtown Star (Tinley Park, IL), The State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL), and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. After graduating, Mr. Meinheit joined the design desk of The Times of Northwest Indiana. In 2009, he joined E.W. Scripps' Central Desk in Corpus Christi where he designed and edited content for The Corpus Christi Caller-Times, San Angelo Standard-Times, Wichita Falls Times Record News, Abilene Reporter-News, and Redding (CA) Record Searchlight.

PERSONAL
Mr. Meinheit and his wife, Shannon, have lived in Corpus Christi since 2009. They have a dog, Cashew, and a cat, Pistachio. He attends as many Corpus Christi Hooks games as he can. He is also a terrible golfer. He is terrible at other activities too, but he finds golf to be the most enjoyable activity to be terrible at. He is also aware the previous sentence ended with a preposition, but he feels it sounds more poetic that way.
