NHS is more than just an honor roll. Membership is based on four equally important criteria. They are scholarship, leadership, service and character. These four criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built.
Scholarship: Pride in the pursuit of knowledge.
Service: Concern for each other, the community, the nation and world. Service can be demonstrated through school, community, or church involvement.
Leadership: Willingness to accept responsibility and to participate in bettering the world by working with others. Leadership can be demonstrated by being an officer in a club, by working on important projects or committees, or by leading a group at work.
Character: Looking within ourselves for personal goals, commitments and responsibilities. A record of reliability, honesty, and sincerity can demonstrate character.
Academics Requirement for Admission: Minimum overall average of 90.0 and a minimum of three weighted courses (either previously completed or currently enrolled)
