The Texas Education Code, §28.023, requires the offering of
Credit By Examination at no cost to students who are wishing to test out of academic subjects or seeking credit for non-mastery of previous subjects.
Tuloso-Midway ISD utilizes Texas Tech University Credit by Examination assessments for students in grades 6-8. These assessments meet the criteria specified by the State Board of Education. For more information please go to

Studentsare given credit for an academic subject in which he or she has had
no prior instruction if the student scores
80% on a criterion-referenced test for the applicable course. For more information please see Policy EHDC, local and legal.
If credit is given in a subject on the basis of an examination, the school district must enter the examination score on the student’s transcript; however, the examination score is not calculated towards the student’s grade point average.

CBE Test dates and deadlines to sign up:
September 4-6 – Deadline to sign up will be August 2, 2019
October 29-31 – Deadline to sign up will be September 13, 2019
February 15-17 – Deadline to sign up will be December 31, 2019
April 15-17 – Deadline to sign up will be February 21, 2020
*Each test has a time limit of 3 hours
